Goodyear Widget

Prezence created an installable branded desktop widget for Goodyear which users can download and have access to content feeds like weather, financial indicators, news and traffic as well as Goodyear special offers and promotions.

Users can select their location for weather updates as well as their base currency and 3 preferred foreign indicators. The widget was built using Flash and is brought to the desktop environment via a custom Visual Basic application.

The widget content is managed via a customised content management system (CMS) where the client can instantly broadcast the latest Goodyear special offers and promotions to all widgets.  The CMS also features custom content aggregation facilities. Reports on downloads and general usage are recorded.

The design of the widget is based on the Goodyear Blimp and updates or additions to the widget are sent as automatic notifications to users who already have the widget installed, i.e. client does not need to communicate the new version to clients.
