Movie Stop

MovieStop is an innovative DVD rental solution that greatly improves the convenience and appeal of renting a movie.

Prezence developed a fully interactive touchscreen application for the service that is deployed on kiosks within Engen Quick-Stop Shops.

The main purpose of the application is for the customer to get registered at the Movie Stop outlet and to capture their credit card details and cellphone number. Other features include more information on pricing, how to rent, and the ability to change your credit card, pin, or cellphone number.

Renting a DVD is simple: the consumer simply takes the empty DVD case of the movie they wish to rent to the counter of the outlet, where it is scanned and the customer's cell number entered. The customer can pay cash along with other items purchased in the shop. The disc is then taken out of a disc stacker which, from the barcode scan, ejects the correct disc.

If the DVD is not returned within two weeks, penalties are automatically added and the consumer can keep the DVD, as the penalties make up the replacement fee for the disc.
